Sandwich Cookie Personality Test

Just taking a break from work. Haha.

Can you really tell a person's personality depending on how they eat their sandwich cookie, eh? Haha. Well here's my result.

You Are Traditional and Dependable

You are optimistic, friendly, and cheerful. People appreciate the hopefulness and good vibes you bring to any situation.

Your life is all about change. Right now, you may be going through some changes you really don't like.

You're easy going and easy to be around. You aren't picky or high maintenance.

You seek security in your life. Feeling safe is important to you.

The Sandwich Cookie Personality Test

Hmmm... I think the results are true except for one. Haha.

"You aren't picky or high maintenance."

I'm not sure.

LOL

22 and Happy.

I turned 22 yesterday and I can't believe it. It seemed like just an ordinary day for me until I started receiving birthday greetings on sms, twitter, friendster and multiply; gifts, hugs and kisses from my family and friends; and two cakes from my sister and my co-faculty members with my BFF as the mastermind (I think. lol).

Despite being loveless, I can say that I am happy with my life. I have friends and family around me and I know that they'll always be there. Thanks to my new-found bestfriend, Chris, for pulling out their surprise for me. Haha. To my friend Nicole for visiting me at work and having coffee with me and to Mam Jas, Mam D, Mam Alma, Mam Imee, and Tatay for finding time to celebrate my birthday. :D

Thank you to also to all my students at Informatics Eastwood and PPS for greeting and remembering my birthday. Sorry if sometimes I'm being masungit or terror. Haha

Thank you guys.

Understanding Life.

Last year, I was was surfing the internet for some interesting websites due to boredom. I came across a site filled with quotes from different philosophers, authors and other influential people.

One quotation caught my attention:

“Life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forward.”
by Soren Kierkegaard, a Danish Philosopher

It got me thinking. What does that quotation wants to say? During that moment, I cannot really think of any explanation. It was like I had to decipher a code in order for it to make any sense. So I just copied the quote and saved it to my computer.

But now I think it's starting to unveil its message.

In life, there are certain things and events that happen - good or bad - it does not matter. We cannot understand why it happened in a particular way but usually in a negative one. What matters is that we still need to live it and go on with our lives. We have no choice but to face another day in this world.

But after some time, as we recall the things that happened in our lives, we unravel the true meaning of those past events. We begin to understand why it happened and how it contributed in making ourselves better individuals.

If we refuse to live our lives forward, we would not understand why a certain thing happened. Realizations come after doing and accomplishing something in the past. What we are today is a result of the decisions that we made before.

Life is a journey that all of us take and this will not end until the day comes for us to leave. Looking back at our past help us think exhaustively before making another decision.

-------
Everyday I contemplate and learn something from my past. It's good that I have a past to remember rather than being stuck and unable to go on.

PS: I just saw the trailer for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and I swear that I did not know they used that quote.. Haha

MacBook Wheel?

Anybody? Here's the new MacBook Wheel.

A laptop with no keyboard? The geniuses at The Onion created a revolutionary design of the MacBook family.

It's like a giant iPod. Hahaha. Imagine yourself writing a paper using that click wheel. I'm sure you'll finish in time for your baby's college graduation. :P

Now I can't imagine how they came up with that very "real" laptop.

Give me a Reason Why...

I can't function properly.
I sit and stare at nothing.
I have sleepless nights.
I breathe heavily.
I want to cry.
I act like I'm fine when I really am not.
I feel empty.
I envy others.
I feel discontent.
I am depressed.

For the past few days, I know that my emotions are on a roller coaster ride. I can feel that there is something wrong with me. At night I ask myself, "What's wrong?", but the answer is nowhere to be found.

My heart is beating fast... Nerves on my temples are throbbing... Ears turning red and feeling hot... Nose is bleeding... - These are clear signs of anxiety for me.

I might be wanting something or someone, but what/who is it, I don't know.

This is just another episode of my life; I'll come around.

Trilogy

Abum of the month:

"Trilogy" by ATB (André Tanneberger)

I picked this album because I was playing this during the New Year's eve. Haha. The beats just gets me in the party mood. When I play electronica music like trance, house, ambient, etc., the atmosphere around me changes and and I feel more relaxed, like my mind is free.

My Top 5 picks are:
1. Justify
2. Renegade
3. Trilogy (The Final Chapter)
4. Better Give Up
5. Alcarda

It has just been two years since I first listened to this type of music. I like to expand and experiment on different musical genres so I can change my music depending on my mood. Haha

2009 Pledges

Here's the infamous list of new year's resolution. LOL

1. Learn How to Drive - I originally planned this last year but because of some circumstances, it didn't happen. I already have my student's driver license but I haven't got behind the wheel yet. Haha. It would be nice if I learn how to drive asap so that I can go anywhere and go home anytime without minding our driver. Haha

2. Lose and Maintain my Weight - I'm a bit paranoid about my weight. I really can tell if my tummy or thighs are getting bigger. Haha. As what I've said in my past post, I gained 10 pound during the last quarter of the previous year and I'm not happy about it. Last night, I started my daily routine of running for 40 minutes on my elliptical trainer. Then my abs for 30 minutes using that electric gadget that to stick on your tummy Haha.

3. Save More Money - Mommy doesn't give me a weekly allowance anymore because I already am working and earning my own money. So I plan to budget my money wisely and spend only on my necessities.

4. Shopping - Errr... I think this clearly violates my number 3. Haha. But hey I need clothes right? Lol. I haven't done any real shopping last year so I think it's okay.

5. Vacation - Out of town or country, whichever is fine with me. Haha.

6. Meet new People - New people =  new friends and probably a new love life? Haha. I'm really looking forward to this. Lol

7. Be a Better Teacher - When I started teaching, I don't have the slightest idea on how to it; It was just purely based on my instinct. I'm not sure if I did well last year. So this year, I plan to do my profession better.

8. Be Healthy - Who doesn't want to be healthy? Haha. Well I hope that my tumors would stop reproducing already. Haha.

9. Buy a new Camera - I'm still thinking if I should buy a Digicam (Sony H50), DSLR (Nikon D40)  or a Camcorder. Hmmm.

10. Continue my Violin Lessons - I really hope to continue learning the violin. Playing the violin relaxes me and gives me a feeling of satisfaction after playing each piece of music perfectly.

11. Be a Better Person - I would like to change all my bad attitudes towards other people and my family. I'm still learning a lot, still growing and exploring the world around me. So please pardon me if sometimes I act childish.

Well I can't think of anything else. I will try my best to accomplish all the things that are listed here.

*crosses fingers*

Happy 2009!!!

Let me greet everyone a Happy and Prosperous New Year!

It has been our family tradition since 2000 to light fireworks as we welcome the new year. We started with a single box of a multi-shot aerial firecrackers. Then on the next years, I saved money and collected amounts from my mom and my sisters so that we can buy more.

Me and my eldest sisters are the ones assigned to set up the fireworks and we take turns in lighting the fuse. But because she's pregnant this year, her husband helped me instead. Every end of our "fireworks show", you can see sweat dripping of my face because I have to ran like 15 meters every time after lighting each fuse.

After the fireworks, fountains, sparklers, etc. we eat at the garage together with my relatives living next door.

HAPPY 2009!
