Tangrams!

Haha. This post is long overdue. Here is it Geric! lol

Okay. Geric and I got addicted with this Brain Twister game called Tangrams. You have to complete 40 patterns using four uniquely cut puzzle pieces.

We started playing this last September 11 and completed the game after four days. Yay! We couldn't sleep or think straight while playing this game. The puzzle was really addicting. You won't stop until you get all the patterns right.

Geric and I used a lot of brain cells in accomplishing this mission. haha. And we took it pretty seriously. lol

Here are all the answers.

Identity

Knowing ones identity is not an easy task. Some people doesn't even know who they really are. Others copy, imitate or even worse, steal another person's identity.

Why? Let us first define the word.

Identity:
- The fact of being who or what a person or thing is.
- The distinct personality of an individual regarded as a persisting entity
- The set of behavioral or personal characteristics by which an individual is recognizable as a member of a group

When you are in a group of people, it is very hard for others to recognize you or identify if you copy another person's actions, appearance, behavior or personality. People will notice you because you are unique. If not, they will think that you are just imitating another person.

But how will you know who you really are? For me, I've discovered this when I was still in college. I told myself that I should change my old introvert attitude because it won't certainly help with keep up with college life.

I used to be very shy during my elementary and high school years. I'm just a normal student with normal problems in school but I have no more than 5 friends each grade and year level. Boring huh? You will only notice me when my name appears on the Top Ten list but other than that, I'm technically invisible. Sad.

Making friends and being with other people was the last thing on my mind. I'm more concentrated with my studies and other school stuff. Still, I used to be a member of the cultural dance troupe when I was in elementary. Yeah, believe it or not I was a folk dancer before. haha. I had friends there but they were just my school friends, literally.

So when I entered college, I immediately made friends with my classmates. I can remember some of them like Vanity, Ross, Ivy, Paulo, and umm. okay never mind. haha. But I was surprised. I instantly gained new friends! yay.

And it started there. My true identity began to unfold. I was never really the quiet, nerd, geek, weak type of person. That person was long gone. haha. I am now, if I may say, a better, strong and fun-loving person. Heck, I never imagined that I'd become a teacher! haha.

Some might think that I have two identities. Well the answer is no. I just have this ability to control my attitude depending on the situation. If I need to be professional, then I'll act professional. But if I'm just around my friends, I can be whoever I want to be! I don't want to be serious all of the time. There are a lot of good things in life and I don't want one problem to spoil all the fun.

If you see me for the first time, you may get the impression that I am masungit or snob. But truth is, I really am not. Here's the deal. If I don't know you, then don't bother acting like we are close. haha.

I know what are my wants, needs, likes and dislikes. I'm not gonna like something just because another other person likes it... that doesn't make me unique. I know what I am capable and not capable of. I'm not gonna volunteer myself with a job when I know in the first place that I cannot do it. I'm won't brag about my talents, abilities, and whatnot just to make others notice me. If my talents or services are needed, then that's just the time to show them off. I won't try to fit in if I know in my mind that I can't.

The best advice i can give is... Just know what your limits are and do not pretend to be someone you're not.

Untitled.

This post was written during a very boring moment in a no-wifi hotel room. (Actually I'm just stingy to pay for the internet access). lol

-------------------

While having a conversation with my friends the other night, I suddenly came up with this quote:

"My life is an open book, but some of the pages are folded."

I modified an old quote to make it more interesting. haha. At first I was just joking about it. But after contemplating for a while, I realized that that quote fits me very well. Let me explain.

"My life is an open book..."

Why?

1. Those people close to me know every detail in my life. Or do they? haha. I have this habit of letting people know what happens to me in my everyday life. No matter how big or small, no one can stop me from sharing it to someone. haha. (remember the keyword: share)

2. It's very hard for me to be plastic. If I don't like you, you'll be the dumbest person in the world if you don't notice it. I hate plastics as much as I hate being plastic. If I'm not in the mood... Well IM NOT IN THE MOOD so piss off! haha

3. What you see is what you get. How I act, talk or behave in texts, YM, and phone is just the same when you're with me in the flesh. haha. I'm a loud, happy, and jolly person but I get emo too sometimes. haha

4. I can easily get attached to someone. If that happens, you'll know almost all of the facts about me in 24 hours. haha.

Now let's get into the second part...

"... but some of the pages are folded."

Ironic? haha. And I like those pages to stay folded.

As much as I want people to know every single detail in my life, there are still some things that I'd like to keep for myself. Those things are private and I don't want anybody else interrogate me. That what makes me interesting I guess. I like to keep the balance between my own world and the public. If I don't say or share something to you, please don't bother asking.

It irritates me when people ask me nonsense questions. Like do you really have to know where I am? Do I have to give you my itinerary or plan for the week? Do you have to know what I am eating or who am I with? Do I have to tell you if I feel good or bad? Do you really have to know that? lol. It's better to be spontaneous because it's more exciting and gives you a whole different experience. haha.

I like to spend an alone time too. Sometimes you might notice that I act weird or something but it's my way of reformatting my brain. haha. So leave me alone. You'll know when I'm done.

I can say that I am still mysterious in a way. Even my own parents cannot say that they know me a hundred percent.

You may know me for years but those folded pages can never be revealed.

WHAT!?!? lol

Having Fun! + Revelation.

Who's Mr. Macchiato?

First of all, this post would reveal my true identity. For the past 6 months or so, I've tried to hard to keep my blog anonymous but due to some reasons, I came to a decision to let the world know who I am. haha.

What made me publicize my identity?
- Because there are a lot of pictures too cute that it would be a sin if they will not be posted. haha.

--------

Okay for the real post.

I had a great time yesterday. I originally planned to drop by school, collect projects then have coffee with my cousin. But Mam Jas asked me and Chris if we could help finish her thesis documentation. So we stayed at one of the classrooms in school and got ourselves busy.

After a while, we decided to go somewhere else because there were a lot of distractions in school that hindered us from getting our work done. So me, Chris, Mas Jas, together with one of my/our favorite and closest student, Geric, went to Starbucks.

Remeber the coupon that I mentioned in the last post? I gave that to the newest coffee convert, Geric. haha. I dunno if I should be happy that he's liking coffee or get worried of his allowance. lol. While Chris and Mam Jas were working, me and Geric continued playing tangrams. (I will detail the game further on my next post. lol)

Later on, Royce came and joined us. He's Geric's friend and one of my/our favorite students also. Hahaha. Biased much? No, their barkada is really great in school.

Before heading home, we went to the arcade for a while and played Time Crisis. Haha. Imagine students and teachers playing at Power Station. haha. But I think nothing's wrong with that. It's nice making friends with them, and our age gap is not that big. haha. Students and teachers in school, but good friends outside. :D

We just laughed and made fun about all things, big or small. I just wanna live my life to the fullest because of my current condition... that I don't wanna talk about. haha. Just plain fun. No dull moments.

Un/Lucky?!?

Haha. Well yesterday, I was having coffee at Starbucks. I ordered a sandwich together with my usual drink. Then I stood near the pick-up counter while waiting for my orders.

The barista called my drink so I walked and picked it up but... my sandwich wasn't there! haha. They apparently forgot to prepare my food! But instead of getting pissed, I just smiled at the barista after she apologized. I won't let that little thing spoil my super day. haha.

After a minute, she handed me a tray with my sandwich. But wait! There's more! She gave me a coupon and explained that this will entitle me to get a free drink of my choice! Why? It was their way of saying "Sorry we forgot your sandwich. We are hoping that you can forgive us. Please come back again". hahaha.

Kewl!

I Did it Again!

Haha. I covered the Damn Red Spot for the second time and I was able to beat my old record. From 39 seconds, I made it to 21. lol

W.O.R.K.

While browsing the web, I stumbled upon a very nice quotation by Confucius:

"Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life."

True enough. Well at least for me.

I think what this saying implies is that you need to be passionate in everything you do, especially with work. You need to choose a job that will make you happy at the end of the day. Of course, stress and pressure are always tied up with any work but it's up to you as a person on how will you make what you do interesting and fun. Time flies so fast when you are having fun. (Yea cliche I know, but it's very true.)

Doing the same thing everyday is tiring and boring. Like in my case as a teacher. I teach elementary, high school and college 5 days a week. Just imagine all the paper works that has to be accomplished everyday. Preparing lectures, exams, seatworks and exercises is tiring. But I always try my best to make my job interesting so that I won't get bored.

It's not anybody's fault if you are having a hard time with your work because it was your decision to be in that profession. I think in order to survive in the world of employment you need to: 1) Love your job and the people around you. 2) It's always nice to make new friends at work because you will spend most of your time with them than others. It's also good to make friends with your students when you're outside the classroom. Knowing them better makes you understand what they feel, how their minds work, and their different personalities. 3) You have to know your limits. You have to be conscious if your acting normal or waaaay beyond the line. Just be sensitive enough to the feelings of the people around your workplace. 4) Learn to adjust with your surroundings. Other people won't change for you. You need to cope with the new work environment.

I love what I do. Though I don't receive my paycheck regularly, no money can replace the fun and fulfillment that I get in teaching.

Tap Tap Tap!

I have a new addiction! haha. I got this game for my iPhone last week and I'm sooo loving it. It's called Tap Tap Revenge! Imagine playing Dance Revolution or Guitar Hero on your iPhone.

The game is so nice and the graphics are great! It has 4 different levels of difficulty: easy, medium, hard and extreme. The extreme level is insane! haha. You can also play by yourself or challenge a friend. So much fun! haha

The game is simple, just tap the colored ball that appears when it reaches the bottom of the screen. You also have to shake your phone left, right, up or down as the arrows fall.

New song tracks are also available for download.  But the best part of this game is...........  it's FREE! haha.

You just might don't wanna play this in public because there are some moves that is a bit awkward in front of other people. haha.

Yo What's Up What's Up?

It has been exactly a week since my last post. haha.

My world was instantly focused to Andrew, my new baby. lol. I've never been enthusiastic again since my first iPod. You can't go wrong with an iPhone, really. No dull moments because it has many functions and features. You can play, listen to music, take pictures, or surf the web while waiting for someone at Starbucks. haha.

I'm just scared of one thing. Very anxious to get my hand on my first telephone bill. haha. One thing I hate about this iPhone, well not the iPhone but the Telephone Company who brought it here in the Philippines.

Here's the deal. They do not offer unlimited data plans! What?! That's the main purpose of owning an iPhone! To get connected 24/7! But the greedy people at Globe only give plan subscribers free hours and then start charging us with P0.50 in excess. Arrgghh. But it's fine. With the growing number of free wifi hotspots, I think I'll survive.

So to fix the data connection charges, we used an APN Disabler that set's the APN to "NULL". That means your phone cannot access EDGE and GPRS. You can get the instructions here.

There are a lot of jargons that you need to know before owning an iPhone. A lot of it's features could only be understood by people knowledgeable enough in Macs or PCs. Why?  You will be using iTunes in synching photos, contacts, songs, applications, etc. and iPhoto or Image Capture in transferring images to your computer. But once you get the hang of it, it's cool. Your iPhone will be your best friend.

This is my first time to have a postpaid plan so I don't have any idea how my bill will look like.

Here's another photo of Andrew. lol

I love the NTC logo btw. It makes the phone look legal. haha
