Super Week

I had a very busy week. I cannot believe that I have managed to do all of this within a week's time.

Ok let's start.

May 26, Monday:
I woke up around 10am and prepared my morning coffee. Then I sat in front of my computer and browsed my lecture for my class. An hour later, I jumped in the shower and had a nice, long, warm bath. As soon as I got out of the shower, I rushed into my room and got dressed and prepared myself for work. I reckoned that the time was exactly 5 minutes before 12 noon. hahaha. How on earth did that happen?

So I ate a very quick lunch then rushed to the school.  I arrived 15 minutes before my class. I collected my things from the faculty and went to my first class a bit past 1:00pm.

Four hours later, I called my mom and asked her if we would still go to a mall. She said yes so I waited for her in school.

We arrived at the mall around 6:00pm...  It's time to shop.

Then hours later, we were back at our car and discussing whether I'll join them tomorrow or not...

At home, I finally decided to go with them so I packed my things and went to bed after... zzzZZZ.

May 27, Tuesday:
I woke up at 9:00am because my mom told me that we'll leave for Tagaytay at 10:30am. So I got ready and waited for my mom to call me.

But after some delays....... We left a quarter before noon. grrr.

We arrived at Sonya's Garden around 3:00pm.

WOW.

The place was soooooo amazing. Flowers everywhere, water running and flowing from numerous fountains, fresh air to breathe, butterflies flying around the flowers, and different plants beautifully arranged around the place.

We went to one of the houses and looked for our room. Did I say room? Man, that room was bigger than our house! four beds, two bathrooms, a balcony, coffee table, and books scattered around. Heaven. lol

The place was very relaxing. You wouldn't want to do anything but read, sleep, and admire the nature around.

We had a scrumptious dinner while being serenaded by a man playing the guitar. After eating, we were asked if we would like to see fireflies. I got so excited because I've never seen fireflies in my entire life! haha.

Then we were back in our room around 9pm. I played a movie that is saved in my laptop so kill time. No tv, radio, etc. All you can hear are the sounds of crickets outside. haha.

To my surprise, I got very sleepy. It was only 10pm! I usually sleep around 1-2am! haha. So I went to bed. zzzzZZZZ

Oh. Here's a pic that I took at the garden.

EDIT: This entry was left unfinished. Haha. I couldn't remember all the details of what happened anymore. haha. Forgive me. lol

The Time of My Life

I love this song. I love the singer too! hahaha
Been listening to this everyday since the finals of American Idol.

The Time of My Life
I’ve been waiting for my dreams

To turn into something
I could believe in

And looking for that
Magic rainbow

On the horizon
I couldn’t see it

Until I let go

Gave into love and watched all the bitterness burn

Now I’m coming alive

Body and soul
And feelin’ my world start to turn

And I’ll taste every moment

And live it out loud
I know this is the time,

This is the time
To be more than a name

Or a face in the crowd
I know this is the time

This is the time of my life

Time of my life

Holding onto things that vanished
Into the air

Left me in pieces

But now I’m rising from the ashes

Finding my wings

And all that I needed

Was there all along

Within my reach

As close as the beat of my heart

And I’ll taste every moment

And live it out loud
I know this is the time,

This is the time to be

More than a name

Or a face in the crowd
I know this is the time

This is the time of my life

Time of my life

And I’m out on the edge of forever

Ready to run

I’m keeping my feet on the ground
My arms open wide
My face to the sun

I’ll taste every moment

And live it out loud
I know this is the time,

This is the time to be

More than a name

Or a face in the crowd
I know this is the time

This is the time of my life

Time of my life

More than a name

Or a face in the crowd

This is the time

This is the time of my life.

This is the time of my life.

I can't wait for David Cook's album. I'll get a copy for sure.

Precognition

I took this test at tickle a while ago that measures your ESP (Extrasensory Perception). The test looked like a joke. haha. There were multiple questions that will ask you what word, thing, color, etc. that you can see in a blank grey card. haha. I really didn't pay much attention to the questions and I picked my answers randomly.

Strange. Haha. But I think the result is kinda accurate. lol

Beware... I think I know what's on your mind.

Cook Wins!

Yay yay!

David Cook is the 2008 American Idol! I just knew it.

I was watching the replay on tv and was all excited about the results. And when Ryan announced the winner, my eyes filled with tears. haha. I love the look in Cook's eyes while he was singing "Time of My Life".

The two Davids received a record of 97.5 million votes and Cook won by 12 million (56%).

It's Official: I'm a Teacher

I guess it runs in my family. haha

Both my parents are educators before they started their own school. My eldest sister is also a teacher. She's currently working as a faculty in the High School Department of St. Paul College here in Pasig. The middle sister (the black sheep.jk) is the only one with a different career. No connection to education whatsoever. haha.

Then me.

I was officially hired yesterday as a part-time lecturer at the same school where I graduated from about a week ago. haha. At first, I was only joking about it. But after seeing my signature on the contract, my face got blank: I was in shock. haha

I am just taking a break from preparing my lesson for tomorrow's class. OMG. It feels so awkward. "Preparing lessons for my class." haha.

This is my first ever official teaching job. Yes, I'm nervous but a friend told me not to show it to the students because they can see it in you. haha. Time to try that Digital Drug. lol

*Looks for iPod*

Anyways, let's just see what will happen to me.

iPod High

Hmm.. Digital Drug? What?

I saw a thread in one of the forums that I frequent about a digital drug that can give you that rush, high, ecstasy, and whatnot, by only listening to an mp3 track that alters the state of your mind.

*skeptical look*

The website mentioned in the post discusses how different sound frequencies can affect your brain. From 0.5-1.5Hz to 90-110Hz, these have corresponding effects that produce numerous feelings, emotions, and can release different hormones like Endorphin and Enkephalin.

Basically, our brain waves are classified into four states: Beta, Alpha, Theta and Delta.

Each of these waves has a corresponding frequency:

Beta Waves: 13-40Hz (Alertness, Concentration, Cognition)
Alpha Waves: 7-12Hz (Relaxation, Visualization, Creativity)
Theta Waves: 4-7Hz (Meditation, Intuition, Memory)
Delta Waves: 0-4Hz (Detached Awareness, Healing, Sleep)

The Digital Drug audio claims that you can achieve all of these brain states in 60 minutes. Then you will feel more relaxed, confident, in a good mood, etc. Everything that you only feel when you take oral drugs like alcohol, caffeine, nicotine or the pleasure you feel after making love with someone.

I already downloaded that audio which contains the so called Digital Drug. I'll have to try it later or sometime this week. The site says that you can only listen it using your iPod because each earphone produces a different kind of frequency than the other. (For the left and right ear.) But I think any mp3 player will do. Just be sure you don't listen to it using a speakers.

In case you're wondering what kind of sound you can hear, it's very simple. Your can hear frequencies. Like a tone in different pitches. No band or orchestra. haha.

You can read more here: Digital Drug

I'm Awake

Warning: Die Hard Grobanite posting.

OMJ.

My Internet Edition of Awake Live arrived last Thursday. I think I've watched the DVD five times already. haha. Because I'm such an OC when it comes to my CDs and DVDs, especially Josh's, I already ripped the audio CD and the concert DVD. I also converted the video to mp4 so I can place it on my iTunes and sync it to my iPod.

I love how the concert was directed. It felt like I was there at the concert, sitting at the front row. The lights, camera angles and stage was awesome!

The band was great too and Lucia was amazing as always. Angelique's duet with Josh was very nice. The cellist gave a great performance during the song Un Giorno Pero Noi and the choir sounded superb in YRMU.

And Josh... WOW! His voice was perfect! Great highs and lows, very powerful, emotional and touching. Sigh.. It brings back many memories of this two-night concert here in Manila.

The behind the scenes was very cool. There was a short clip of his stay and concert here in Manila. I am very proud of it. haha. The Philippines was the only Asian country that was included in his Awake Tour. Nice.

I can say that this concert DVD is his best yet, and my favorite of the three. There is no dull moment and you'll surely stay wide Awake.

I will definitely buy the regular edition of this album when it comes out here. (if it does.lol)

David VS. David

Who will be the next American Idol?

Omg. I love these two guys.

At the first few weeks of the elimination and finals, my choice was David Archuleta. But I got a little bored watching him every week with the same style, wrong choice of songs, and his poor fashion sense. But that boy can surely sing. He just need to find his own style. I might fall asleep while watching his concert. Haha. Don't hate me. I still love him.

Then David Cook. Hands down. I Love everything about him. His style, choice of songs, clothes, stage presence... everything. I love how he arranges the songs to make them sound his own. I really don't listen much to his kind of genre. But there is something about him that made me listen to his music every week. Bow.

So who's your bet? One thing is for sure, the winner's name is David. lol

Good luck to the both of them.

I'm Still Alive!

I'm sure you got this text message yesterday from one or more people:

US GEOLOGICAL SOCIETY PREDICTS A 6.8 MAGNITUDE EARTHQUAKE WILL HIT PHILIPPINE PLATES TONIGHT.PLS BE CALM & ALERT. This txt msg is from Hawaii state emergency preparedness office. Pls pass (no harm in being prepared) lets pray dis will not happen.

Well? Haha. I myself got a little nervous when my friends and family members forwarded me this text message. I was listening to music on my iTunes and my speakers was turned to its maximum level. After reading the message, I turned off my music, switched the television on and scanned all the local channels for that earthquake news.

I finally found this local news/radio cable channel and saw one of their headlines telling that the earthquake rumor isn't true. Then the director of PHIVOLCS confirmed in an interview that there is no such thing as the US Geological Society in Hawaii. No agency can currently predict the exact time, date and intensity of an earthquake but still advised the public to be always prepared.

But still I waited... Haha. Nada! No earthquake! haha

Graduate... At last!

Yipee!!

I'm a college graduate, finally!! With a degree in Bachelor of Science in Information Management.

No more assignments, reports and projects.
No more sleepless nights. (well not really, I'm an insomniac. lol)
No more thesis.

I would love to post my graduation picture here but... never mind. haha.

Our graduation was held last Sunday, 11th of May 2008 at the SMX Convention Center.

The ceremonies started 20 minutes past 2pm but we were already lined up (gathered.lol) since 1pm.

I got an award/medal for Academic Excellence in my course.

Oh yeah. My dad gave a speech too. Here's an excerpt from his testimonial:

"Four years ago, 'Mr. Macchiato' was a very timid lad who could not face a crowd, rarely opened his mouth, would pull his mother’s skirt when he wanted something, and could not even buy patis in the neighboring store. But alas, in his stay in Informatics, he frequented the stage, singing Josh Groban’s “The Prayer” or playing Pachelbel’s “Canon in D” with gusto on his violin. He directed a Broadway musical play, became president of the Computer club and can now buy “hot venti sugar-free vanilla non fat caramel macchiato.” Undoubtedly, my son gained self-confidence which was the first step to victory."

Now, my friends are teasing and calling me "patis".. hahaha. thanks dad! lol

The graduation ceremonies was a success. More than 1000 people (students, parents, guests, faculty and staff, admin) were gathered.

A lot of pictures were taken before, during and after the ceremonies but nooo.. I won't be posting it here. Mahirap na! haha.

After the graduation, me and my family went to greenbelt to have dinner and celebrate my success. hahaha.

>> Pahinga Mode.

My Collection

Since I'm a loyal patron of Starbucks, I've decided to collect all of my cups as much as possible. I started collecting cups and holders last February 2008.

Some of these cups have a special meaning to me. I separated these special cups from the rest of my collection because.... secret! haha

Here's the latest picture of my collection..

Total count as of today is 63 cups. There were some cups that didn't make it home because of some unforeseen events. hahaha.

A lot of people are asking why the heck am I collecting these cups. At first, I don't collect all of them. I only collect the special ones. haha. But after some time, I just started bringing all of them home.

These cups came from different Starbucks branches. Some from 6750, Greenbelt 3, Silvercity, Mega Mall, Libis, and from my favorite, The "P". lol

I will keep on collecting cups as much as I can. As long as I have the money to support my addiction. haha.

Having an espresso machine at home wouldn't stop me from visiting Starbucks. haha.

Oh. I edited my name out from the cups. haha. Just call me Mr. Macchiato.

Triple shot

Just got home from church... I'm soooo sleepy! I woke up at 7:30am, ate breakfast, had shower then off to the church. I can barely keep my eyes open. I'm already singkit but I looked like a very sleepy Chinese. lol

The priest was super hyper. His voice can be heard outside even without the mic. Maybe he can see me sleeping and he wanted to wake me up. haha.

It's almost 12 noon but I'm still sleepy. Hmmm what to do?

The Solution: Make coffee!!

Well, I already plugged my trusty espresso machine and I'm waiting for the water to get hot.

Here's what I'm planning to make:

Triple Shot Caramel Hazelnut Latte
3 shots of espresso
milk and froth
2 tablespoons caramel syrup
1 tablespoon hazelnut syrup
whipped cream

yum.

I'll be back...

After 5mins... yay!

Tastes good. Hope this helps. haha

Sorbeytes

I know it's been a while.. haha. I have nothing else to do and the hot weather is giving me a headache. grrr.

So here's a super late post about the happenings last Monday. I won't be posting here every detail coz so many things happened and lots of topics were discussed that I can't really remember them all.... And I'm a 200% hyper that day. lol

1:30pm, I arrived at my number one favorite coffee shop to meet my friends. We stayed there until hmmm... 7:00pm? haha. So finally, we left and decided to have dinner.

On our way to NYPD (New York Pizza Delivery) we passed by Pagliacci and my friend saw an ice cream stand outside. I think that it wasn't an ordinary ice cream but i don't know what it is called. Sorbet/sherbet, frozen yogurt, gelato? I really don't know. Haha

While waiting for our pizza, I continued thinking of that frozen dessert's name. It can't be a simple ice cream because one scoop costs P100. Too much for one scoop. haha. So finally, i thought of a name.... Let's just call it "Sorbeytes" para sosyal pa din. haha.

"Mamang sorbeteyro, can I have sorbeytes?"

What? lol

.......

We got so stuffed with all the food and pizza so we decided to go back to the coffee shop for a second round and to have vitamins. lol

Adik!
