David Cook is the 2008 American Idol! I just knew it.
I was watching the replay on tv and was all excited about the results. And when Ryan announced the winner, my eyes filled with tears. haha. I love the look in Cook's eyes while he was singing "Time of My Life".
The two Davids received a record of 97.5 million votes and Cook won by 12 million (56%).

I tuned in to the finale at 5 minutes before end of the show just to hear the winner. I was happy that Cook won. Just because. Archuleta is good, too. But too young and too good boy image for me. HO-HUM. Cook has a brother with cancer - dramatic. Archuleta has a stage father - boring. HO-HUM. Cook can replace the guy who played Joker in Batman if he don't make it good singing - a villain in the movie world. Archuleta can play the younger Hulk - a hero. HO-HUM.
AMERICAN IDOL is getting to be a drag now since Taylor days. PAULA is becoming more iffy - pfffft. I know it is the plot of the show - but it's more a popularity show now than recognizing the IT factor.
HO-HUM ........ (snore).
